She describes herself as an enthusiastic optimist who lives to drive change — and her career is proof of exactly that.

Nyssa's journey into financial education grew from a deep belief that everyone deserves to navigate their financial life with confidence. After years as a nonprofit administrator — where she led teams, managed finances, and reported directly to a board as Treasurer — she found her calling in the intersection of education, advocacy, and community empowerment.

As a Financial Counsellor Nyssa worked directly with people facing financial hardship, bringing a client-focused and trauma-informed approach to every conversation. She championed individual advocacy, built tools for financial resilience, and worked tirelessly to ensure each person's unique circumstances were met with genuine understanding.

Today, Nyssa wears three hats: as a Trainer and Assessor with ICAN Learn, training the next generation of Financial Counsellors across Australia; as a Money Coach with My Money Circle, working directly with individuals to build financial confidence and capability; and as an Instructional Designer, crafting engaging learning experiences that make financial education more accessible and effective.

She holds a Diploma of Financial Counselling, is a certified CAP Money Mentor and MoneyMinded Facilitator, and is connected to a national network of financial capability professionals through her personal endeavours.

Beyond her direct work, Nyssa is driven by a bigger vision: dismantling barriers to financial equity and advocating for vulnerable communities at a systemic level. She is a curious lifelong learner who loves sharing what she discovers — whether that's a new app, a great book, or a better way of doing things.
